Effective counselling experiences involve an immersion in a process and search for solutions. Too heavy a focus on solutions ends in shallow temporary fixes while too great a focus on process never ends. Counselling need not be endless. There is a ‘long and honourable tradition of brief psychoanalytic psychotherapy’ (Coren, 2001, p.12). Evidence suggests, that with the right counsellor, clients can achieve measurable outcomes in six to ten sessions (Cuijpers, et al.. 2013).

I offer a blend of innovative, evidence-based, person-centred, best practice mental health therapy and coaching that is designed and tailored for people who think outside the box. You will NOT get a cookie cutter, one size fits all, experience here!

How It Works – The Counselling Process

It’s time to get clarity, take action, and start thriving!

We will collaborate toward putting in place a therapeutic plan, custom designed for you, wherein you will know, every step of the way, what we are working on toward reaching your goals.

Additionally, we measure everything, including my performance. I do this to make sure it works. You will also be given quantifiable metrics that show your own progress, as you go through sessions.

While this therapeutic plan is proprietary, its basic steps are as follows:

Free Half-Hour Initial Consultation

Launching
Step One is about getting to know each other and then working together to formulate a plan pertaining to both: (i) where you want to go, and (ii) how you want to get there.

Awareness
Step Two is about increasing your self-awareness. You’ll get clear on the beliefs, thoughts and behaviours that are magnifying your stress and keeping you stuck.

Skill Building
In Step Three, you’ll learn the skills to stop stress and negativity in their tracks. Your energy will instead go toward creating positive thoughts and solutions. As negative patterns fade, your confidence grows.

Better Habits
In Step Four, your awareness and skills are strengthened through personalized habits. With regular practice, these habits become automatic and ensure your sustained progress.

A New Level
Step Five galvanizes your awareness, skills, and habits, so that you reach a new level, where you’re in control, where you feel confident to handle whatever life brings you.

Maintenance
Here we continue to solidify your new self and strengths. This is where we review and validate process.
